Reflection on my final piece of music
I made up my serialism for my piece of music by choosing a certain order of the music and then I played it the opposite way around to complete the 32 beats. For my cypher I used the morse code translator and then I put my name in for it to translate and then I chose one note that I would use for long and short which would be 4 beats and 1 beat. I then put my cypher onto garage band so I could have the exact amount of beats and the I added on with my serialism piece. I then worked with my group to make the sound clouds which were made by Adnans phones clapping each other, Aman playing the shaking instrument and Carlene using the instrument that if your role on your hand or the floor makes a sound. Then I also added that to my piece of music so it was all one whole piece and to make it sound more interesting in the end. I came up with my serialism piece because I felt like it would be easier to chose a certain row and then do the opposite and it would not be that hard to play on the piano. I chose my cypher which was the morse code to be my name because it was me and it wasn't a big long sentence which was hard to play and it would be easier to fit it into the piece of music. I chose my sound clouds because it would make the piece of music sound more interesting and as if something was going on and something is going to happen so the people listening are not bored of it. It would also mean that the sound clouds had more emphasis and the people would be listening to that more and it would sound less boring than the serialism piece. It would also add different textures to the piece of music so the people would be feeling many things at once. Our group was able to do the sound clouds by everyone choosing what they wanted to do and then we all did it in turns to make our sounds for every single person and that they could then go on and complete the rest of their piece of music.
