Final Reflection

This term in music we have done many things which were like learning how to make music and

writing our own pieces of music with 32 beats and also creating a primary tone row to make our

own interesting piece of music. This year we also learnt the elements and devices of music so that

we could have more vocabulary when we were doing reflections and also know what different

kinds of music are like. We also learnt all the different kinds of notes on the piano and also did

many different games to help us learn it better and also doing performance art on abstract music to

improve our teamwork and coordination skills. We looked at how you can create different things

like sound clouds and a morse code to make the final piece of music sound more interesting. We

also looked at different kinds of abstract music and how they sound and what stories they make in

our head and what kinds of art relates to those music and we did many reflections on them. This

what we have learnt this term in music and I think I have been able to make a lot of progress.

To become a more efficient and effective learner I need to be able to always keep reflecting on

what I have done in class and always look over what I have done again so that I remember it for

next time and I am able to do it easily. To become more flexible in my choice of learning strategies I

can start experimenting with new things that we haven't learnt in class and then I would be able to

use it the next or also try out every single learning strategy that the teacher has told us about. The

factors that are important for me to learn well is to do all the homework that's the teacher tells us to

do on time and also always reflect on what is done in class and also review over what is done so I

understand it and I will always remember it. My strengths in music is to write the music in different

ways and also understanding the notes and also doing reflections on everything that we done but

my weaknesses are playing the piece of music or even inserting it into a software for it to play it.

This term I learnt many different things which were the elements and devices of music and I also

was able to learn how to work as a team to make a performance art and dance organised in front

of the whole class. I was also able to learn all the notes on a piano and I was then able to do my 13

tone row and then make it into 32 beats to make a final piece of music. For my 32 beats to make it

more interesting I also was able to go into groups to make sound clouds with different instruments

or voices and add it to the piece of music to make it better. We also were able to add another thing

which was a cipher that I learnt which is also known as a morse code and then you chose a certain

note which it can be made as long or short for a certain amount of beats and it can be your name

or any word. You then put it onto a website to translate it and you can see what you need to do. I

don't understand how to exactly put the piece of music properly so I can play it easily and know the

exact notes so I keep confusing it to make it higher or lower so I need to work on knowing which

notes is the exact one on the piano. The questions that I have now are what is every note on the

piano and when you write it where exactly do you put it on the staff. Now I am able to write notes

on the piano but I don't know where they are on the piano. My peers can go on my blogger and

check what I did so they can get help to do what they want. Next I will work on where notes are

placed on the piano and how do I know if they are higher or lower. This term I have shown

progress in criteria D and the criteria I have found more challenging was criteria C. My targets for

term to is to get 6 6 6 6. To improve my level in each criteria I need to know what exactly I am

learning and what I am trying to do. I understand all my rubrics and also understand my

assessment criteria.
